In a statement, QGC stated, “The increase in gas flow rates has coincided with a 15% drop in water production to 5,700 bwpd, down from 6,700 bwpd indicating that significant desorption of gas is now occurring with the coal seams addressed by the seven wells [in the project].”
This announcement comes on the back of QGC announcing completed workovers at three wells at the field (the South-5, South-8 and South-12), a week ago, where pumps were lowered and the wells cleaned out.
“Berwyndale South-8 has flowed at an average of 144,600 cfd over the last week, up from the previous best weekly average of 79,700 cfd. The well uses a design which is the preferred completion technique for the development of the full field,” added the statement.
QGC and CS Energy Ltd have a 50-50 share in the project.
QGC also announced details of a $1 million raising. It said it would place 5,464,481 ordinary shares at 18.3 cents per share, a discount of 8% to the five day weighted average price of QGC’s shares ending 8 April.
