QGC told the Australian Stock Exchange this morning that the Berwyndale South-9 well, which has been on production for about one-and-a-half years, flowed more than 3MMcf/d last Friday.
Meanwhile, the Berwyndale South-60 well started production on 2 May this year and flowed at 3.24MMcf/d, equivalent to about 1.25 petajoules per annum.
QGC said neither well was showing any signs of having peaked in term of gas production.
The company is operator and majority owner of the project, with a 90% interest. Sentient Gas Australia owns the remaining stake.
The joint venture has an unconditional gas sales agreement with CS Energy to supply 4PJ of gas a year for the next 10 years to the generator’s Swanbank E Power Station, near Ipswich in southeast Queensland.
Berwyndale South is QGC’s first gas field development and the CS Energy contract is its first commercial supply agreement.
