Sunshine Gas petroleum engineer Glyn Weatherall is picking the Queensland Reds to beat the Cheetahs in Brisbane this weekend despite their shocking form this season.
“With the wooden spoon all but assured, the Reds are now playing for pride,” Glyn writes. “Number 10 Berrick Barnes will score the first try and the Reds will get their second victory of the season against the Cheetahs. Big call I know, but they have nothing to lose and everything to give back to their long-suffering supporters.”
Allens Arthur Robinson senior associate Tom Story wants to see the NSW Waratahs play the Highlanders but while his heart says the Tahs will win, his brain says the Highlanders will prevail.
“I expect that the Highlanders will win,” Tom says. “They will be too strong in the forwards with an all-All Blacks front row. However, I would like to see Lachlan Turner for the Waratahs grab the first try.”
And in Canberra, APPEA director - industry operations Mark McCallum will be taking three friends to the ACT Brumbies v Western Force match.
Mark writes: "Steve Larkham will put a step on Matt Giteau to score the first of four tries to the Brumbies, who will of course win."
