“The test recovered 40bbls of formation water in the drill string," the company said. "This outcome was similar to the results at Reg Sprigg West-1.”
A Stuart Petroleum stock exchange announcement said after undergoing rig repairs, the partners would be drilling ahead to test the Tinchoo Formation at 2239m.
“At Reg Sprigg West-1 the Tinchoo Formation is a productive oil and gas reservoir,” Stuart said.
The Tinchoo 74-0 sand in Reg Sprigg West-1 was perforated and flowed on clean up 9.7 mmscfd accompanied by condensate at approximately 500 bbls per day.
The interests in PEL 90 in the Cooper Eromanga Basin are Stuart Petroleum (operator) 75% and Beach Petroleum 25%.
