Tomahawk said electric logs from the third well in this year’s drilling program, the Longview 1-17, confirmed substantial hydrocarbons in multiple formations in both the primary and secondary “conventional” targets.
“The logs have indicated 60 feet of gross hydrocarbons over four intervals in the secondary “conventional” objectives,” said a Tomahawk statement.
It said the two primary “unconventional” objectives, the Caney Shale and the Woodford Shale, intersected gross thicknesses of 174 feet and 45 feet respectively.
“Whilst the number of secondary objectives was lower in this well than most the results from the Caney Shale were outstanding with gas shows of up to 4,800 units, more than double that of any other well drilled to date,” the company said.
“The success of this well and the other 2 wells drilled this year, the Snell Heirs 4-18 and the Snell Heirs 1-17 make these three of the best wells drilled to date in the project area and the company is therefore confident that they will add to Tomahawk’s growing production profile."
Tomahawk has 100% working interest (71.5% after royalties) in all its wells.
