South Korea goes green

The South Korean government has announced it will be investing around US$213 million to develop renewable energy sources over the next five years.

In a statement the country’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy said, “South Korea will invest in developing renewable energy such as solar, wind and hydro-cell energy. This year alone, the Ministry will spend 37.1 billion won (US$31.5 million) to develop the three renewable energy sectors.”

The announcement was made at a launch ceremony for the three projects.
