Parsons to start producing in June: Cooper

THE Parsons oil field on the Cooper Basin's sparsely explored western flank is expected to start ...

Cooper added the Parsons-2 well has been completed and produced oil at a clean-up rate of 1430 barrels of oil per day.

The earlier Parsons-1 discovery had produced 3362bpd of oil during clean-up, indicating that initial production capacity for the Beach Petroleum-operated field will be about 4792bpd.

Oil from Parsons will initially be trucked to Callawonga until a pipeline from Parsons to Callawonga is built later this year.

Beach had said previously the success of Parsons showed the Cooper Basin still held great potential as a hydrocarbons province.
