Woollybutt still feels Monty's wrath

Oil production from the Woollybutt Oil Field will remain suspended for up to five more days following the passing of the category four cyclone Monty.

On the 28 February the FPSO was disconnected from the mooring system due to the proximity of the cyclone and sailed to safe waters whilst the cyclone passed. The FPSO is now anchored in the vicinity of the field in preparation for reconnection.

The joint venture partners have been advised that due to the effects of the cyclone in the port of Dampier, mobilisation of some of the necessary equipment to recommence production may be delayed. Consequently production may not be restarted until 9 March 2004.

The cyclone and consequential delays on this occasion will likely result in production from the Woollybutt field to be off line for a total of around 9 days.

Joint Venture Participants in WA-25 -L are Tap Oil 15%, Eni Australia (operator) 65% and Mobil Australia Resources Co. 20%.
