Operator Pacific Tiger Energy has announced the successful initial results of Thailand’s first-ever horizontal multi-lateral onshore drilling program.
PTE president Michael Cvetanovic said from Singapore that the pleasing initial results had seen production rates of 150-220 bopd, an effective doubling of daily production from the recently drilled multi-lateral horizontal well WB N8, which was producing from only a small portion of the field.
A workover rig had been moved back to the nearby N7 well and new production rates from N7 should be announced next week.
The Wichian Buri partners previously intersected significant paydirt at the WB N7 and WB N8 wells, encountering a gross total of 2000m meters of F and G reservoir sequences. The WB N8’s well bores have a combined net horizontal pay of 400m.
Recoverable reserves at Wichian Buri are estimated to exceed 10 million barrels of oil.
