Two of Amadeus Energy’s Texan wells are almost into production, waiting only for local power to be connected to the well sites.
The company said the Rash Barrett 24-1 and the Seay Heirs wells have been completed and will shortly be brought into production when the facilities are commissioned. Amadeus has 50% of the wells.
Amadeus director Anthony Short said the company would have to drill more step out wells before it could get an accurate reserves estimate, but said that historically, wells in the area would initially flow around 100 barrels of oil per day and settle down to around 40 bopd, and end up yielding between half a million to a million barrels of oil.
“We will probably run the wells for six months and use that cash flow to drill some other prospects. That way we keep our hands tied in the right places – it brings some discipline to financially managing our exploration,” he said.
Amadeus currently has a daily production rate of around 1000 bopd, Short said.
