MPR Petroleum Open Day 2002

The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources of Western Australia (MPR) is holding a Petroleum Open Day on 24 October 2002. The venue is the Burswood Convention Centre, Bolton Avenue, Burswood.

The MPR Petroleum Open Day will provide the petroleum industry with an opportunity not only to hear of the past years' developments from the Department, but also to discuss these developments and trends for the future with MPR representatives. A poster display area will be provided where industry can meet with representatives of the Department during morning tea and before lunch.

The Honorable Clive Brown, MLC, Minister for State Development will open this year's Petroleum Open Day. An announcement is expected of the release of areas for exploration in the northern Perth Basin Onshore and State Waters areas. Other presentations will include updates on important developments in areas such as safety, environment, land access, an update on the Geological Survey Division's basin studies program, Dampier Sub-basin aquifer assessment and investment opportunities.

PESA's West Australasian Basins Symposium (WABS III) is being held on October 20 to 23, prior to the MPR Petroleum Open Day at the Burswood Convention Centre. Registration for this event is separate and must be done through PESA ( www.pesa.com.au ).

There is no fee for attending the MPR Petroleum Open Day but registration is required by 17 October.
