The draft license was granted by the Queensland Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy (DNRM&E).
In a statement the company said, “The Department’s approval of the pipeline construction follows other positive news from Berwyndale South. QGC, in conjunction with Thiess, has just completed a Development Plan for the 60 PJ Project which details capital costs and operating costs over the next 15 years.”
QGC MD Richard Cottee is understandably chuffed with the good news.
“Commercially, this project stacks up. Project economics show that Berwyndale South will provide competitive coal seam gas, delivering profits over the life of the project,” said Cottee.
