Bellata-2 plugged and abandoned

Comet Ridge has announced the abandonment of the Bellata-2 well after reaching a total depth of 656 metres. The well is currently being plugged.

In a statement the company said, “The well encountered the Mooga Sandstone and the Purlawaugh Formation as prognosed. Minor gas shows were detected in the Purlawaugh Formation [but] no zones of interest were identified on wireline logs.”

The well was spudded on 2 June.

Bellata-2 is located 8.5 km west of Bellata in PEL 427 in the Gunnedah Basin, NSW. Comet Ridge is the operator and 100% owner of the acreage.
