With construction starting immediately, the $140 million project is due to deliver first gas by January 2009.
The pipeline will initially be capable of delivering 30 petajoules of gas per year into the NT gas market from Eni Australia’s 100%-owned Blacktip gas-condensate field in permit WA-279-P in the Bonaparte Gulf.
Named after a species of warm-water shark, Blacktip has an estimated 1.3 trillion cubic feet of gas reserves and 150 million barrels of condensate.
