Strike, which has a 22.8% stake in the project, said operator Cypress E&P Corporation was finalising arrangements with gas purchasers and had started testing Duncan-1.
The testing program, which will run over the next 60-90 days, involves perforating, fracture-stimulating, then flow-testing individual and combined zones to determine sustained production rates.
The operator is also moving the rig to the Duncan-2 well site, which is expected to spud this week.
Duncan-2 is the project’s first development well.
“This marks a very significant stage in the development of the project with initial facilities in place, and development drilling and production testing commencing,” Strike’s managing director Simon Ashton said.
