At the Overston-2 workover, gas and completion fluids are continuing to flow to surface so as to clean up the well, Sunshine said. Liquid hydrocarbons have also been observed.
The workover is aimed at commingling the gas sounds previously intersected to obtain a potentially commercial flow rate.
The clean-up is scheduled to take several days. Once this process is completed, the well will be shut-in to obtain reservoir pressure data. Following that, an extended well test will be undertaken.
Meanwhile, the Narrene-1A exploration well, about six kilometres southwest of the Overston gas field, had reached 1840 metres as of yesterday, according to Sunshine.
The company intends to keep drilling to 2250m then run seven-inch casing. Following that, it will drill to total depth of 3050m then evaluate the targets.
“The well will address gas-in-place potential in the order of 91 billion cubic feet,” Sunshine said.
“The primary target is the Tinowon Sandstone at a depth of 2750m. Secondary targets include the Showgrounds Formation as well as targets deeper than the Tinowon.”
