Stuart to spud Rogan-1 tomorrow

STUART Petroleum expects to spud the Rogan-1 gas exploration well in South Australian Cooper/Eromanga Basin permit PEL102 tomorrow. Century Resources will drill the hole.

Stuart to spud Rogan-1 tomorrow

Rogan-1 is in the Innamincka Regional Reserve, an area with significant gas discoveries in the Cooper Basin sequence. Recent drilling in the adjacent PEL 103 license has upgraded the oil potential of this sequence, according to Stuart.

The well is expected to have a total depth of 2622m and the prospect is predicted to contain relatively dry gas in the Patchawarra Formation and the Tirrawarra Sandstone primary objectives.

“Rogan-1 is mapped as having an upside unrisked (P10) of 44 BCF in the primary objectives,” said Stuart Petroleum managing director Tino Guglielmo.

“It provides the opportunity for Stuart to build a commercial gas resource.”

Stuart holds 100% in PEL 102.
