A subsidiary of Germany's Uhde group, Shedden Uhde specialises in providing services and process technology to the downstream petrochemical and oil and gas industries. Some of its clients include Shell, BP, ExxonMobil, Origin Energy, Incitec and CSL.
A Clough spokesman said the deal would give the Perth-based engineering group " a pretty serious base in Melbourne".
It would also boost its ability to capitalise on renewed activity in the Otway Basin and Bass Strait, where it has already landed a $400 million contract to develop the BassGas project, the spokesman added.
As for Crest Engineers, Clough originally bought it to complement its specialist engineering capability and to add to its order book clients it did not already have.
Clough bought 75% of Crest in a deal just over a year ago and then wrapped up the final 25% from shareholders, led by former managing director, Alan Croxson. The Crest business unit has now been assumed into the Clough Services division.
