The Fremantle-based company said following a letter of intent from Apache last month, agreement has been reached and a $10 million contract signed.
The installation work involves the laying of 5.5km of 12 and 8 inch pipelines from the Victoria platform to a tie-in on the Gibson/South Plato-Varanus Island pipeline.
The work will be undertaken in joint venture with Clough Engineering through the Mermaid Clough Joint venture, Mermaid said.
Mermaid added Apache has an option to extend the work to include a 7km pipelay to Double Island to utilise the benefit of the equipment which will be mobilised and on site for the initial project.
