The Styx Basin is located on the Queensland coast, approximately 90 kilometres north of Rockhampton. The basin contains a CBM play in Cretaceous aged coals as evidenced by blowouts and rig fires during coal exploration drilling in the 1920s, according to the company.

A recent interpretation of surface geology including integration of existing bore and coal exploration data suggests a CSM gas resource in excess of 300 BCF could be present in the Styx Basin.

Arrow intends to drill a test core hole to a depth of 550 metres early in 2003 to determine the gas resource potential of the Styx Basin.
