Second Yemeni Oil Search test comes up water free

Retesting the Nabrajah-2 well in Yemen has paid off for Oil Search as there was no repeat of the water ingress experienced during the first test.

Oil Search reported that DST#4 over the Qishn S2 Sandstones in the Nabrajah-2 well flowed oil at 1,427 barrels per day with minimal gas and no water production.

The Qishn S2 sandstone was re-tested due to excessive water production during DST#2 and DST#3, which was related to poor cement isolation from deeper water-bearing Lower Qishn sandstones.

Oil Search said the well was suspended and the rig released on 9 October. The rig is currently being mobilised to the Nabrajah-1 surface location from where the Nabrajah-3 appraisal well will be drilled, with a bottom hole location 1.1 kilometres north east of the Nabrajah-1 bottom hole location.
