Luton hits three zones

Sunshine Gas (100%) is now assessing the commercial viability of the well and any possible development.

Luton-2 is the third well of a six well program in the Northern Bowen Basin for Sunshine Gas. The target coal seams in the Luton Prospect region are laterally extensive and in the success case could potentially yield substantial volumes of gas.

In Luton-1, the uppermost Bandanna coal seam at 155m produced a 230 unit gas peak and the main Mantuan coal seam, 7m thick at 514m, produced up to 2,500 units of gas. A deeper conventional gas objective will be tested at another time.

Luton prospectivity is further enhanced by the well being located on a structural dome which should serve to concentrate gas in the coals.
