Cullin-3 supports Luton-2 discovery

The 100% Sunshine Gas owned Cullin-3 appraisal well has intersected around 26m of gassy coal, including a single coal seam of 11m in the Cullin coal bed methane field.

Preliminary field analysis of the coal gas indicates that it is comprised largely of methane, although further gas content work will now be carried out on the cores taken and testing is planned in the near future.

The rig has been released after the completion of wire-line logging at a total depth of 474m, and will now be moved to a second Cullin appraisal well location with Cullin-2 expected to spud later in the week.

Cullin-3 was the fourth well of a six well program in the Northern Bowen Basin for Sunshine Gas. Luton-2, Cullin-2, Cullin-3 & Tilbrook-1 are Coal Seam Gas (CSG) wells designed to commence proving up Sunshine’s vast northern Bowen Basin holdings as potential producing properties.

Both Luton-2 and Cullin-3 have been successful wells to date having intersected encouraging gassy coal horizons.
