Well knott so good for Woodside/BHP

Woodside has moved on from the disappointing Knott-1 well to immediately begin preparations for the drilling of the Indian-1 exploration well.

After the completion of wireline logging the BHP Billiton operated WA-255-P Joint Venture in the Exmouth Sub-basin, discovered that the Knott-1 target Macedon sands are water wet and was subsequently plugged and abandoned.

The Indian-1 exploration well, located in the Exmouth Sub-basin permit WA-271-P,

is now being prepared to spud in 990m of water, about 10km west southwest of the Stybarrow field.

Joint venture participants in WA-271-P are Woodside Energy (60%) and Mitsui E&P Australia (40%) while the well is being drilled by BHP Billiton Petroleum (Australia) on behalf of operator Woodside.
