JC sees CBM light in Darkes Forest

The former founding director of Mosaic Oil is currently setting surface casing and installing BOPs on the well.

Darkes Forest-1 is the test of the coal bed methane (CBM) potential of the workings in the up thrown block of the Darkes Forest sector of the abandoned Coalcliff Mine in PEL 444 north.

The workings are targeted at 470 metres depth with potential for eight billion cubic feet of CBM gas within the workings and if proved the resource will supplement supply to the participant's planned local power station in northern adjacent CCL 703 (Metropolitan lease) which is currently subject to feasibility with EnergyAustralia.

Equities in Darkes Forest-1 well are Sun with 20% and Apex with 80%.
