DRILLING

Gauguin-1 a duster for Harriet

The Harriet Joint Venture has had consecutive disappointments with the Gauguin-1 exploration well...

Gauguin-1 is located 5 kilometres south of the Harriet Alpha Platform. Venture partner Tap Oil said the well was unsuccessful due to a lack of structural closure.

The Joint Venture will now focus on the early development of the Monet Oil Field discovered earlier this month, the details of which are currently being considered.

It is likely the Monet-2 development well will be drilled from the Simpson Alpha Platform in June/July this year when the drilling rig returns to the HJV.

Development wells on the Bambra structure also being considered following the return of the rig.

Other prospects for drilling in the Harriet Area are being reviewed based on recently reprocessed seismic data. Some of these will be drilled in Quarter 3 this year.

Harriet Joint Venture Participants are Tap Oil 12.2229%, Apache Energy (Operator) 68.5% and Kufpec Australia Pty Ltd 19.2771%.
