The well has reached a depth of 1348m and is drilling ahead in claystone after pushing through a base of salt, which has provided very difficult hole conditions.
In the next 24 hours the company will complete the drilling, run logs and evaluate prior to abandoning if no hydrocarbons are observed.
Yuksekkoy-1 is located in croplands, 25km south-west of the city of Adana and 14km east of the city of Tarsus.
The well was designed to test a relatively shallow depth domal structure on the western on-shore flank of the Adana Basin, well defined by good quality 2D seismic, shot by Amity early this year.
Amity said it now feels the domal structure was predominantly salt and not a reef as originally hoped.
The Adana Basin is sparsely explored and has one producing oil field, located 32km to the north of Yuksekkoy-1 and an undeveloped gas field, 21m to the east.
Amity holds a 90% interest in the block of four Exploration Licenses, which include the Yuksekkoy structure, and has farmed out a 10% interest in this license block to The Krystal Corporation.
