Arrow, CS Energy get serious in Kogan North/Tipton West

Coal bed methane (CBM) hopeful Arrow Energy has restarted its vigorous drilling program in the Ko...

Appraisal drilling in the Kogan North CBM Project area is progressing as part of the CS Energy farmin appraisal program, with the first hole of a three core hole appraisal campaign being drilled and intersecting 23m of gassy coals (Kogan North-1 intersected 24m of coal).

Located just 9.5km east of the Kogan North CSG pilot, the cores are now being desorbed to determine gas contents.

Drilling of the third well on the Tipton West CSG pilot called Tipton West Pilot-3 has also begun, roughly 400m south of Tipton West Pilot-2.

Immediately following the completion of Tipton West Pilot-3, Tipton West Pilot-4 will be drilled about 400m east of Tipton West Pilot-3.

An evaporation pond, pumping equipment and surface facilities will be installed with the commissioning of the pilot due in November.

A short-term pump test using a water well test rig, of the Tipton West Pilot-2 well flowed at a stabilised rate of 1100 barrels per day of water and gas immediately at 10,000cfd.
