The firms which had submitted their bids are the Pacific Consultants International Inc-JGC Philippines JV, the Worley Pty Ltd-Maunsell JV, Mott MacDonald, Gulf Interstate Engineering, Chicago Bridge & John Brown, Engineers India Ltd, JP Kenny Pty Ltd and the LG International-Hyundai-Kogas consortium.
PNOC president Eduardo Mañalac said the firm had opened the technical bids of the eight firms which had shown their interest in the project and are currently evaluating the financial bids of the firms which passed the technical appraisal process.
Whichever firm lands the project, it has to begin construction by early 2006 with commercial operation slated for the first half of 2007.
The US$100 million project will see a 100 km main gas transmission system supplying Metro Manila gas from Batangas province. The project also envisages a 35 km spur line to supply Rosario, Cavite, and sub-transmission pipelines to serve potential gas users.
