This will allow the centre to take on another 15 trainees.
This follows the £360,000 the centre was awarded three months ago to train 42 Scotland-based people.
The first training courses started in January.
The Energy Skills Challenge Fund is managed by Skills Development Scotland and aims to boost Scotland's energy sector while helping people make their existing skills relevant to the sector.
The funding is available to individuals with a Scottish postcode.
The UK is facing a skills shortage in the oil and gas sector as well as an ageing population of commercial divers.
A recent survey by Oil and Gas UK shows that in 2011 more than a third of the UK's "core" diving personnel were aged between 45 and 54.
Underwater Centre general manager Steve Ham welcomed the funding.
"We had a huge number of calls from people from a range of career backgrounds, including construction workers and yard hands, when the first round of funding was announced in October and we ran a number of successful assessment days for those interested," he said.
