Following the acquisition, the portfolio has a total installed capacity of 44MW across five wind farms.
Viridis, which listed on the ASX in September, says the total investment value of its portfolio had risen to $A520 million, up from $190 million raised via an initial public offering.
Prominent wind industry participant Gamesa Energia developed the projects and will also provide ongoing maintenance.
Viridis chief executive Edward Northam said he was pleased to have completed the purchase of the Lower Saxony Wind Portfolio and was particularly pleased with the company’s growth since its IPO.
“Since listing in September 2005, Viridis has completed a number of value-enhancing investments consistent with its strategy of creating a high quality diversified clean energy asset portfolio from which to deliver growing returns to its investors,” he said.
The total installed capacity of Viridis’ diversified portfolio has increased to 185MW and includes investment in wind, landfill gas, process gas and hydro in the United Kingdom, Germany, United States and Italy.
