The company said the new supply agreements, sourced from a range of companies including SunPower, General Electric and the Scanmodule/REC Group, would supplement existing arrangements with Sharp and First Solar.
Conergy said the secure supply of PV modules had “laid the foundations” for the company to achieve growth throughout 2006 at a faster rate than the global solar market, which some industry bodies have estimated at around 25%.
The Hamburg-based company intends to achieve market leadership in Australia, having purchased Australian solar wholesaler Quirk’s Victory Light Company in the second half of 2005.
Conergy said Quirk’s Victory was already one of Australia’s largest solar dealers, with revenues exceeding $A2 million.
“Australia is an attractive and fast-growing market with a high export potential to South East Asia,” said Conergy founder and chairman Hans-Martin Rüter.
“Conergy has the right products and enough buying power to satisfy Australian customers over the long term.”
