This follows approval from the state’s Essential Services Commission of the company’s electricity and gas retail licenses, following a “rigorous” review process and public consultation, said Jackgreen.
Managing director Andrew Randall said this was a significant step for Jackgreen in becoming a national player in the energy retail markets for domestic customers.
“We are confident that South Australians will respond positively to the Jackgreen message and the opportunity to reduce their personal greenhouse gas emissions in support of the renewable energy industry,” said Randall
The company is also a licensed electricity retailer in New South Wales and Victoria.
Last Friday, Jackgreen announced that it was ahead of its sales targets set for the year and re-affirmed its position to reach 25,000 customers by first quarter 2006. Net sales for September were just short of 3,000 customers, representing the third month in a row the company had at least doubled its sales.
Jackgreen retails energy from renewable sources such as low-impact hydro and wind. It said it may potentially add solar energy to its portfolio.
