Wind Power Pty Ltd will build six turbines on a cleared 57 hectare cattle grazing property located at Wonthaggi in South Gippsland.

The windfarm will produce up to 10.5 megawatts capacity of electricity provide enough electricity for up to 6,000 households while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by about 41,000tonnes a year.

The Minister for Planning, Mary Delahunty, also said a separate proposal for a wind development at Bald Hills in South Gippsland will require a new planning application, because the original plans significantly differed from the amended plans submitted to the independent panel.
