No joke: Comic cased for production

COOPER Basin operator Stuart Petroleum is completing on a sole-risk basis its Comic-1 exploration...

In a drilling report, Stuart said the well flowed 21 barrels of oil and 987 barrels of oil per day on drill stem test at a depth of 1418-1424m in the Birkhead Formation.

Log interpretation also indicated oil pay in the Hutton Formation.

However, Stuart as operator said it was completing the well on a sole risk basis.

Comic-1 was targeting 1.3 million barrels of P10 oil-in-place in a structure between the Harpoono and Revenue oil discoveries in the northeast area of the Dunoon Ridge.

Stuart holds a 66.67% stake in PEL 113 while Beach has 33.33%.

Elsewhere in the Cooper Basin, Stuart said the Doriemus-1 exploration in its 100%-owned PEL 102 permit was yesterday morning running surface casing to 806m.

The well is targeting 2.5 million barrels of in-place oil and 32 billion cubic feet of in-place gas, both at the P10 level of confidence, in the Doriemus structure, which has a strong stratigraphic component.
