The company said hook-up, testing and commissioning of the floating production, storage and offtake facility, Nganhurra, has been completed and over the coming weeks production was expected to steadily increase.
Nganhurra is about 50km northwest of Exmouth. It has a maximum production rate of about 100,000 barrels per day and a storage capacity of about 900,000bbl of oil.
Enfield, located in production licence WA-28-L, has estimated reserves of about 127 million barrels of oil. It was discovered by Woodside in 1999.
First production from Enfield was originally scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2006, before Woodside accelerated the timetable to the third and then the second quarter.
But the new timetable for completion slipped back into July after the Nganhurra FSPSO was damaged.
Joint venture participants are Woodside Energy (60% and operator) and Mitsui E&P Australia (40%).
