Drillsearch yesterday said Rig PDI-735 spudded Talgeberry-12 on July 13 and encountered oil shows while drilling through the Wyandra Formation and the Murta member towards its total depth of 1315m.
Wireline logs indicated over 9m of net oil pay and the well was cased and suspended as a future producer. The rig was then released last Tuesday to drill nearby Talgeberry-13, which has an expected total depth of 1303m.
Rig PDI-724 had spudded the Endeavour-7 delineation well and encountered oil shows while drilling through the Birkhead reservoir section. The well was expected to reach total depth of 1418m today, after which wireline logs would be run.
Rig PDI-721 was released from the Bilberry-1 near field exploration (NFE) well last Friday, but poor road conditions due to heavy rain delayed the rig moving to its next NFE location until Wednesday. The Minni-Ritchi-1 well was now expected to spud at the end of the week.
Drillsearch said of the 28 wells drilled to date, 11 had been placed online as producers and one as a water injection well. Eleven wells were cased and suspended, with the majority due to become new oil producers. Five had been plugged and abandoned.
However, there were still 22 wells to be drilled in this first phase of the Tintaburra drilling program.
Interests in the Tintaburra Block are Santos (89%), Drillsearch Energy (10%) and CPC Energy (1%).
