The wells are designed to finetune completion design modifications and to accelerate water production from the eastern side of the pilot scheme. The pilot is currently producing about 250 mcfd and 1800 barrels of water per day.
The project was recently awarded a Petroleum Pipeline Licence, allowing the construction of a 147km pipeline to connect the field with customers at Oakey, Dalby and Kogan.
First gas sales are scheduled for January 2006. Arrow has purchased 50 acres of land at Dalby to site power generation facilities and electricity generated is expected to be sold to Country Energy.
The Tipton coal-bed methane field is potentially one of Australia’s largest continuous onshore gas fields. It has been independently certified as having 1,086 PJ of gas.
Interests in Tipton West are Arrow Energy 80% and Comet Ridge 20%.
Meanwhile Arrow and Comet have confirmed intersecting the Walloon Coal Measures at their new Trapyard-1 well in ATP 689P south-east Queensland. The drilling rig has now moved to the Glen Haven-1 location – this well will also target the Walloon Coal Measures. Interests in ATP 689P are Arrow 70% and comet Ridge 30%.
