In a statement Shell’s Iran office MD Robert Winner said, “The plant will be built by a consortium comprising Iran Gas Export Development Company, as well as Shell and Repsol.”

“The first phase of the plant will enjoy a production line, which will then be increased to two and six production lines producing 7 million tons LNG. Based on our agreement, Shell will do marketing for 3.5 million tons of the product while another 3.5 million tons will be marketed by Repsol,” he added.

The Iranian firm holds a 50% stake in the consortium. The balance is evenly shared between Shell and Repsol.
