India offers to double Bangladesh diesel exports

The offer by state-run Indian Oil Corp will see 60,000 tonne of diesel being exported a month from 2005 to 2010. IOC is currently exporting 230,000 tonne of diesel to the Bangladesh Petroleum Corp from April-December this year.

In a statement Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Morshed Khan said, “Bangladesh [is] looking at the potential for larger cooperation with India as its requirement of diesel is going up [but] I will leave it to the officials to discuss import contract.”
