Whilst the company was happy with its investment and the level of technical support received, it did admit that "the field's higher than normal sour gas contaminant level posed a challenge to Shell in its development."

The B11 PA rig is located in the B11 gas field off the coast of Bintulu, Sarawak. Whilst Shell Malaysia is the operator, the company hold an equal stake in the project with the state-owned Petronas Carigali. The rig began its first shipment on 11 November, 2003.
