Iin Arifin Takhyan, Director General Oil and Gas, is reported to have said production for the year is estimated at 1.27 million boepd or 463.5 million barrels of oil for the year.
The West Seno field in Makassar Strait, operated by Unocal Corp, would begin in June with around 20,000 bpd of oil output and then gradually increase to around 40,000 bpd.
"There is falling production in some oil wells, including in Caltex, because of ageing fields and also there are some security problems," said Iin.
Capacity for production has also risen, with Energy and Mining Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro saying in Singapore in March that Indonesia would be able to process 12% more crude oil per year, up to 1.42 bopd.
