With its stakes ranging from 90 to 100%, Sundance is looking for a farminee operator to earn up to 60% interest in the licences, with formal exploration permits to be granted upon completion of the almost finalised Native Title negotiation.
The 607-square-kilometre ATP 616P licence comprises two blocks 14km east of the Jackson field – one of Australia’s largest oil fields – as well being close to several smaller fields.
Covered by a 350km line of seismic, the permit includes one well, Bundeena-1, drilled in the northern area. Eight leads are present in the southern part of the licence, but new and reprocessed vintage seismic is required to mature and generate further prospects.
Four leads have been identified in the 2590 square kilometre ATP 636P licence, located 60km east of the Jackson field. Sundance said several oil fields to the north suggested high oil prospectivity in this undrilled block, with future exploration dependant on the acquisition of new seismic and the reprocessing of a 350km line of vintage data.
Meanwhile, ATP 661P includes 100km of seismic that needs reprocessing, with the acquisition of new data also needed to identify new prospects and leads. The SSW Betoota anticline dominates the licence area, with the Bettota-1 well drilled on the anticline flank in 1960. Closest producers to this 1779 square kilometre licence are the Cook and Inland oil fields.
