The well reached a total depth of 1593m with 132m progress for the week. A drill stem test of the Birkhead Formation over the interval 1497-1502m flowed oil to surface at a rate of 127.2 cubic metres per day (800bopd) and water at 76.3cmpd (480bwpd) through a 13mm surface choke.
A subsequent test of the McKinlay Member over the interval 1246-1251m flowed clean oil to surface at a rate of 70cmpd (440bopd) through a 13mm surface choke.
The rig was released on Tuesday August 9 and is currently moving to Bugito-1, another near-field exploration well, this time in PPL 149.
Stimpee-1 is 1.25km south-west of Alkoomi-1, 6km north-east of the Limestone Creek Oil Facility, and about 49km south-east of the Moomba Gas Plant.
Santos has a 100% stake in this well
