Strong shows at Nabrajah-5

After completing intermediate electric logging operations, the well was deepened and drilled through the deeper Kohlan Formation before penetrating the top Basement at about 2,650 metres.

"During the drilling of the lower Kohlan Formation and upper part of the Basement strong hydrocarbon shows (C1 to C5) were encountered," Oil Search said.

"The significance of these hydrocarbon shows will be evaluated via electric logs once the well has reached total depth. The forward plan is to continue drilling the Basement section to a revised total depth of approximately 2,850 metres."

Nabrajah-5 is a deviated well with a top Qishn S2 target location about 1,100 metres south of Nabrajah-4.

Interests in Nabrajah-5 are DNO ASA 56.67% (operator), Oil Search (Yemen) Limited 28.33% and The Yemen Company 15%.
