Iraq signs first post-Saddam oil contract

Under the contract, a joint venture comprising British-based Dynamic Processing Solutions, Iraqi company Kar and Turkey’s Avrasya will develop the Kormale Dome field in the province of Irbil, said Oil Ministry spokesman Assim Jihad.

The new oil field will have a capacity of 100,000 barrels a day and about 100 million cubic metres of associated gas, according to Jihad.

More contracts with other companies would soon follow, he said.
