Sonsub acquires new ROV support vessel

Subsea construction engineering firm, Sonsub, has acquired a new ROV support vessel, the 'HOS Dom...

In a three year agreement with Hornbeck Offshore, the 70m Class 2 DP vessel will begin working for the company in February next year.

"Configured for light subsea construction, well intervention, flying lead and umbilical installations, the vessel includes a stern mounted A-frame, a moon pool, a roll stabilisation system and accommodation for 36 people," the company said.

The vessel has already been contracted for Shell's Na Kika project and some of the tasks will include installation support, touchdown monitoring, completion work and intervention tasks required during the installation.
