Ghanaian military spokesman Mbawine Attintande told Reuters that four people were rescued while another was still missing.

The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority reportedly said the accident occurred after the helicopter took off from Takoradi port on its course to the Jack Ryan oil rig near the giant Tullow Oil-operated offshore Jubilee field.

More details are yet to emerge with the cause of the crash unknown.
