The company said it is excited about gaining approval for its 100%-owned Chase 21-30H well as permission to drill the well had proved far more challenging than originally thought.
Construction of the well site has started and the company is finalising a drilling contract to spud the well in August.
Sundance said it is also advancing the permitting process on its next three wells on the Phoenix prospect and hopes to meet its prospect program goal of three to four 100%-owned wells this year.
Also in North Dakota, Sundance said operator Helis Oil and Gas is currently fracture stimulating the fourth well, Peterson 15-15H, at the South Antelope prospect development campaign.
The company said the operator is also close to completing the drilling of the fifth well in the campaign, Levang 4-28H.
Once Levang 4-28H is completed, Helis is planning to spud next well Levang 4-13H.
Meanwhile over at the company's North Washington prospect in Mclain County, Oklahoma, Sundance is preparing to complete the Paul 1-15 well as soon as a rig becomes available.
Paul 1-15 is a vertical test well designed to test six possible productive zones.
An analysis of mud and open hole logs have identified prospective pay zones in the Osborne, Hutton, Viola and the Mclish zones, Sundance said.
