Wellington-headquartered NZOG said this morning that flow tests on the Kupe South-8 well were completed at 6am on Sunday.
The company said a 62m-thick interval, between 3513-3575m measured depth below rotary table (MDRT), was tested through a one-inch choke, with surface flowing pressure relative to atmospheric pressure of 2100psig.
Sustained flow rates achieved were 33MMcf/d of gas and 3840bpd of condensate, NZOG added.
Testing of the Kupe South-6 well, over the interval 3014-3106m MDRT was expected to start later today, followed by testing of the Kupe South-7 sidetrack well, the company added.
The Kupe partners are operator Origin Energy (50%), Genesis Energy (31%), New Zealand Oil & Gas (15%), and Mitsui E&P NZ (4%).
